Description<\/h3>\n

This hiking + kayak route begins from the port of Ca\u00f1o Hondo \/ Sabana de La Mar. We will walk for around 3 hours along the Wet Forest in Los Haitises National Park. You will learn about the medicinal plants of this area, see the primary and secondary broadleaf forest in the mountains of Los Haitises National Park and at the same time reach the source of the Jivales River from where the waters of the natural pools of the Eco-lodge come out. Hondo Ca\u00f1o. Then we take the necessary equipment for your safety (life jackets, etc.), kayaks and cross the mangroves. You will see some mangroves filled with birds, rolling hills of lush greenery. Through the mangroves and land in the open bay of San Lorenzo, from where you can photograph the wonderful forest landscape.<\/p>\n

After this experience, you will return to Cano Hondo or Sabana de la mar.<\/p>\n

        After an initial walk through fields and farmland, you will begin walking through the coconut and Cacao forest. Be every minute within the primary and unique forest area within the Los Haitises National Park.         The caves in the reserve were used as shelter by the Ta\u00edno Indians and, later, by hidden pirates. Look for drawings of Indians decorating some of the walls. In the rainforest, there are more than 700 species of plants, we try to teach visitors about all the medicinal plants that we know on this hiking route.<\/p>\n
