In their language \u201cHaitises\u201d translates to highlands or Hills, a reference to the coastline\u2019s steep geological formations with Limestones. Aventure deeper into the park to explore caves such as the <em><strong>Ogof Tywod<\/strong><\/em> a <strong><em>Ogof Llinell.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Caves in the reserve were used as shelter by the Taino Indians and, later, by hiding pirates. Look for drawings by Indians that decorate some of the walls.<\/p>\n<p>After visiting Los Haitises National Park we will go to Cano Hondo. In Cano Hondo learning about this ecolodge history and Lunchtime with the typical food from Sabana de la mar Comunity.<\/p>\n<p>Lunch will be delicious but we did not finish yet. After lunchtime, we will swim in the Natural spring from Jibales River a perennial river to the Ca\u00f1o Hondo River.\u00a0 Staying at Ca\u00f1o Hondo until 4: 00 pm and heading back to Saman\u00e1 port we will pass again through the mangroves and Land at the open San Lorenzo bay, from where you can photograph the rugged forest landscape.
